8BitMMO is a free to play browser-based sandbox MMORPG where the players build the world as they see fit. The project has been going on for several years and has over 800k members who have or are still playing the game. The number is astounding and while the game is still rather simple it is refreshing to see a game where the community has literally shaped the game.
